ambience
“Ambience” won 2 major awards back in 2019: The “3rd Cinéfondation – Festival De Cannes” & the “Best Short Movie” Award at the “41st Cairo International Film Festival – Youssef Chahine Awards”.
about
“Ambience” is a short film directed by Wisam Al Jafari that tells the story of two passionate musicians trying to record a demo for a music competition inside a noisy crowded refugee camp in Palestine.
And when they fail in recording their music piece due to the chaotic state of the camp; they discover an authentic & creative way that allows them to meet the deadline set to submit their demo.
One of the music projects that we are proud to have produced was the ending soundtrack for the award winning movie.
The Process
We at Konnected Studios had the privilege to work with the amazing team from Bethlehem behind “Ambience” and got inspired by their passion in wanting to tell their story in an expressive way that ended up being loud enough for the entire world to hear.
The collaboration started when we sat with the Director of the movie Wisam Al Jafari and his co-assistant Shada Waleed, and had a deep discussion about how the ending-track to sound like in order to have the track deliver the perfect soundtrack.
And the answer was simply, the entire sounds that were recorded during filming the actual movie.
The Noises from next door neighbors, the foot stomps from the dabke happening down the street and the blares from the army troupes passing by, were all of the sounds we had used to compose and fully-produce the masterpiece needed for “Ambience”.
